Notable facts

Origin

Conserveira de Lisboa traces back to 1930, when it began life as the grocery Mercearia do Minho; the company formally took its current name and registered its house brands — Tricana, Prata do Mar, and Minor — in 1942. It remains an independent, family-run cannery, now in its third generation under the Ferreira/Cabral family.

Tricana is the flagship of the three brands. Its can-label artwork hasn't changed since 1942, and fillets are still placed in the tins by hand at the company's Lisbon premises, where the original 1930s shop interior is preserved as a working retail storefront.
